Japanese panel curtains – a new word in the windows design

Inherent in the traditional style of Japanese minimalism is most clearly manifested in the appearance of Japanese curtains – new and not quite usual for the layman way to design not only windows, but also the walls, doorways and niches. Fabric panels, reminiscent of the screen or the partition can be both a harmonious interior detail, and a semantic center of stylistic composition.

Concise and simple to install and care, Japanese curtains are an example of a combination of maximum functionality and visual appeal of a decorative element.

Japanese curtains are the composition of several fabric panels (width 40 to 80 cm) which can move freely in a special multi-layer cornice. Cornice is mounted on a wall or ceiling, depending on what part of the room curtains should decorate. Aluminum profile of the cornice with multiple (2 to 5) rows for tissue panels allows varying the movements of curtains. At the same time the manual sliding will allow having curtains in any order, while the rope or electric mechanism will always move the panel on the same circuit.

The sliding mechanism of Japanese curtains can be included into the “smart house” system: then the window will open in the morning automatically.

Japanese curtains require space: they look particularly impressive on the big bright windows. For small spaces and modest-sized windows such curtains are too heavy and massive. But if you only use light fabrics and bright colors, this design of the window can be a good solution even for a small room.
